Ledgerline
The operations dashboard for a small online brand: orders, payments, refunds and WhatsApp notification status in one place.
This is a self-initiated concept. Oddbird Goods (a fictional D2C brand) is not a real client. We built it to show how we approach this kind of problem, so there are no client metrics to report.
01
The problem
Small D2C teams run on four browser tabs: the payment gateway, the store admin, WhatsApp and a spreadsheet. Nobody can answer “did this customer get refunded, and do they know?” without checking all of them.
02
The approach
Organise the dashboard around questions instead of data sources. Every order row shows its payment state and its notification state side by side, and the actions you need (refund, resend, export) sit on the row.
03
The experience
- Revenue, orders and refunds for the period you pick, with the comparison stated in words.
- Search and filter orders by status. The table stays readable on a phone.
- Refund flow with a confirmation step and a clear reason field.
- Notification status (sent, delivered, read, failed) next to each order.
04
The engineering
One timeline per order
Payment, refund and messaging events are normalised into a single ordered timeline, so the UI doesn't have to reconcile three APIs.
Server-side filtering
Filters and search run as URL state, so they work with the back button, can be shared, and scale past client-side limits.
05
The result
As a concept, this has no client results, and we won't make any up. What it does show is how the product works, and you can try that yourself.
